Maspalomas

Maspalomas – Friday, March 27, 12:30 PM

Andrews Hall, Sonoma Community Center

We had the pleasure of seeing it last night, and I can honestly say it has opened my eyes to aging as a queer male.

Winner of Best Actor at the Spanish Academy Awards (Goyas) and the Silver Shell for Best Actor at San Sebastián Film Festival, Maspalomas is a bold, deeply moving drama about a proudly out gay man forced back into the closet after a stroke. Frank in its depiction of gay sex and intimacy, it’s a powerful story of identity reclaimed. (Dir. Jose Mari Goenaga, Aitor Arregi/Spain/109min)
