Sonoma County Organizations

HIV/AIDS SUPPORT SERVICES

Face to Face is dedicated to ending HIV in Sonoma County while supporting the health and well-being of people living with HIV/AIDS. They have been operating since 1983 and continue to create innovative and effective programs that support the community and the public at large. Face to Face is committed to providing the essential care necessary to help reconnect people with their vitality and well-being.

SELF EMPOWERMENT

Positive Images is a grassroots organization whose mission is to provide support, advocacy, and education to Sonoma County’s LGBTQIA+ community. They nurture positive self-image through creating an affirming environment where everyone can explore their identities, develop leadership skills, and participate in building a just and equitable society.

COMMUNITY SUPPORT SERVICES

LGBTQ Connection has developed a framework of strategies to drive culture change, grow a youth-led movement, and to increase support and visibility for LGBTQ people. They promote leadership and strengthen underserved people to live healthier and more connected lives. They provide support groups, training programs, and community events.

YOUTH SERVICES

VOICES’ mission is to empower underserved youth, ages 16-24, by utilizing holistic services throughout their transition from systems of care, while building a loving community and establishing a solid foundation for a healthy future. At the core of VOICES are youth-led programs designed to address the independent living, housing, education, employment, and wellness needs of transition-age youth.

COMMUNITY SUPPORT SERVICES

Food For Thought provides healing nutrition and compassion

to over 850 people affected by severe illnesses in Sonoma County.

CRISIS & SUICIDE PREVENTION

The Trevor Project is the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to the LGBTQ community. It serves diverse communities across the country and takes an intersectional approach to support mental health for all members of the LGBTQ people under the age of 25.

CHANGING MINDS

The Matthew Shepard Foundation’s mission is to amplify the story of Matthew Shepard to inspire individuals, organizations, and communities to embrace the dignity and equality of all people. Their work is an extension of Matt’s passion for fostering a more caring and just world. They share his story and embody his vigor for civil rights to change the hearts and minds of others to accept everyone as they are. They offer a variety of programming, like speaking engagements and artistic works that help inspire people to change minds.

MUSEUM AND HISTORICAL ARCHIVES

The GLBT Historical Society collects, preserves, exhibits, and makes accessible to the public materials and knowledge to support and promote understanding of LGBTQ history, culture, and arts in all their diversity.
